What are we doing to ensure we are operating socially?

Customer Facing

1. Our People

We utilise a local independent HR Business Partner to ensure our recruitment process is effective and inclusive. Currently have a workforce that is over 60% female, which is unique and diverse within our industry. We believe in the power of diversity, and we strongly encourage applicants from all parts of society.

To further our strive for the best, and local talent we have a policy of no age discrimination, with employees from graduate level to those that are highly experienced within the industry. 100% of our workforce currently resides within the Greater Manchester area and one of RPMG’s key philosophies is to encourage and promote local employment & talent.

Nationwide

2. Our Local Economy

At RPMG are ethos is to support our local business partners within Greater Manchester, including our SME business partners, such as LabDesk, Holla HR, and Prevail. This allows us to continually invest in our local economy and support other growing businesses.

We utilise a regional Supply Chain, which including the following suppliers: GTM Heavy Rentals, Gordian Building Solutions, Premium Roofing Supplies & Architectural Steel.

Local Community

3. Our Local Community

We believe protecting and providing for our local community is essential. We implement initiatives providing donations to local and national charities.

Competitions are run on our company social media pages to win charitable donations for our social media followers. An example of an initiative we have completed is ‘Casestudy Xmas’, on LinkedIn. This allowed us to donate to an individual’s choice of charity as an appreciation for supporting our journey. This is an element of the business we are going to continually complete annually but alter the prise to make it non-monetary, such as competitions to win tickets to local Greater Manchester events.

Volunteering is an initiative we are incorporating more into the organisation, with plans by 2030 to have a paid day a year for employees to volunteer for a local charity. We aim to focus on the element of our employees giving time, rather than a financial benefit. We are also looking into sponsoring a local sports team by 2030 also.

By 2028 RPMG aim to have built and created 3 community gardens within the Greater Manchester area. These will be in areas such as local schools and charity offices. We will provide the resources, labour & materials to create an environment encouraging and calming area for the community.

4. Our Environmental Impact

As an SME, we are continually striving to enhance our environmental impact through a range of sustainability efforts:

  • Sustainability drives all our operations. We prioritise preserving and maintaining the existing structures at our sites, ensuring high-quality repairs that extend their lifespan.
  • Circular economy: This is a concept we invest in as an organisation, with our values being built around reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing structures and resources for as long as possible. We make a concerted effort to employ subcontractors from areas as close as possible to the project location, reducing travel emissions and developing the local economy
  • Remote Work Options & Car Sharing: Partial work-from-home arrangements further reduce individual carbon footprints. For events and site meetings that require travel, we promote carpooling to limit environmental impact.
